P1: Proposal
Proposal
My rap magazine is based around Juice WRLD who is an American rapper. The purpose of my magazine is to entertain my audience about their artists and music events. I have been asked to create a magazine with 4 pages: a front cover, contents page and a double page spread.
My target audience are male mainstreamers who are between the age of 18-25 in social economic categories B-D. I chose a mainstream psychographic because rap music is popular among many groups of people however my magazine will be luxurious and modern and the audience will match. Mainstreamers like to feel a part of a large group and Juice WRLD is one of the most recognisable figures in rap. This age group is the same as Juice WRLD's audience, so i am aiming at the same audience. The social economic categories were created so companies could decide what audiences to target and is based on job occupations.
It is best to target social economic categories B-D as the audience in rap are wealthy/steady as they are regularly funding 'group buys' to leak new music, therefore they might be working professional jobs to fund these. I believe my magazine will be a unique product in the market as Juice WRLD magazines are rare, which is my Unique selling point. I think my magazine will only be available for a limited time as it is an exclusive edition.
My magazine will be distributed mainly through music stores such HMV where his audience may be more likely to purchase.
These are some magazines that i want to use as inspiration as they match my genre and have similar layouts and colours to what i want to use. I will use these magazines to guide me when following codes and conventions of magazines.
