P4: Create production materials to be used in the original media product
For this report i will be writing about the materials I created in preparation for the production of the actual magazine. I will explain how my 'Anti' magazine and assets follow the unwritten rules of magazine and the layouts.
This is my masthead for my Anti magazine. A masthead is a logo that goes on the front of the magazine and is clearly seen to show the brand name or magazine name. I decided to use this name because it relates to the person it is based on as Juice WRLD has a tattoo that reads 'ANTI' on his arm, which means fans of Juice WRLD will recognise this and therefore the correct audience will be consuming my product. I have used Adobe Photoshop to create this masthead and designed it to look simple and luxurious, i did this because it fits the genre of my magazine.
Double page spread article text:
"Juice WRLD went from unknown teen to a chart-topping sensation in just under a year.
Juice offers a whole catalogue of admirably honest freestyles about drugs, mental health, and heartbreak. 20-year-old Juice WRLD explains his love for rap and hip-hop, his relationship with XXXTentacion and disastrous shows with Nicki Minaj.
He just released his 2nd studio album 'Death Race for Love' and plans to tour around the world with his sprawling 22-track emo-rap opus, laced with voguish trap and emo beats.
Juice WRLD has a range of beautiful confessions throughout 'Death Race for Love' while he keeps his lyrical style, he had in last year’s breakup anthem 'lucid dreams, as he grasps the idea of emotional turmoil & drugs.
"Drugs can ruin your whole life". Juice speaks on how the drugs he takes could leave you in a trance and how he is aware of the risks he is taking every day. "Most rappers rap about getting high and feeling great. But I talk about the good and the bad side" he was brought up by his mother, who, he claims "try to keep him away from the streets as much as possible", still he fell into problematic and un-nerving drug use, as he calls for greater understanding around it: "everyone knows someone who does stuff that isn’t healthy for them. But imagine how much of a fuck you don’t give to do that, to drink that, to pop that."
Juice WRLD has many qualities that rappers wish they had, "I don’t want to brag on myself, but people have told me that my personality matches my music.
It's real, knock-on wood" Juice WRLD talks about people that tell him he saved their life. Ally murmurs "he saved my life” while she sits slumped in Juice's loose Gucci t-shirt, "before we even met"
they’ve been together "a couple days past 6 months”. Ally was a fan of Juice, and when they first started dating, she met him in a Rhode Island hotel room and was surprised to see he travelled with 3 suitcases: one for shoes, one for clothes and the biggest one of all - a huge trove for games and consoles.
Juice is the same age as XXXTentacion, when an unknown assailant shot him dead last summer. Juice says he spoke to him a couple of times on the phone. He declined to say what they spoke about and he’s polite and firm when he replies to each question. "He asked for my number, and he called me. I wouldn’t call him a friend, but we had a couple deep conversations."
There was controversy around Nicki Minaj and her show. She had to cancel a show and broke the news to her thousands of fans already waiting for hours. Juice says "we were panicking because we needed someone to translate for us to cancel the show. I walked out with her, and she started talking to her fans saying, "I’m so sorry" and stuff like that.
Still, the bad experience hasn’t stopped him putting on enormous stadium and arena shows."
