M1: Justify Content, Distribution & Marketing methods identified for the planned production to meet a client brief

 Content

My magazine will be created by following conventions of magazines. On my front cover my masthead will be on the top as it is easily seen when magazines are stacked on shelves. Using fonts, colours, themes and layouts I will make sure my magazine draws the attention of my target audience as my target audience love rap music. I will place my puff on the top right of my page as I want the magazine to contain an incentive to buy; I will put my puff in a black circle so that it stands out against the rest of the text. I have used purple as a main colour on my magazine as it is a calm and luxurious colour. Also, purple was Juice WRLD's favourite colour and it matched the magazine and then linked back to theme of the magazine. I am going to use a font called Lemon Milk as it is sharp and modern and matches the magazine really well. On the front cover I will have an image of my model with his body turned away however he turns his head, which was meant to resemble Juice WRLD being the centre of attention in the rap community. I have cover lines on both the left and the right of the magazine as this is a traditional convention of magazines from text such as 'The New Age Of Hip-Hop' on the left to text such as 'Polo G, Trippie Redd, The Kid Laroi' on the right.  I have used the phrase 'The New Age Of Hip-Hop' because it will intrigue people into exploring the music of Juice WRLD and seeing how unique his music is compared to other artists. This is also the unique selling point of my magazine as it makes sure my magazine focuses on one artist rather than an entire catalogue of artists. I have put a barcode at the bottom right of the page to make the magazine look authentic.

On my contents page I have my model in a modern green t-shirt, with the background the same place as the front cover however it is a different angle. I chose this background as I think the colour matches the theme very well. Also, as it is fake leaves, the appearance of plants links back to Juice WRLD because he likes different plants. In addition, I have headings such as Juice WRLD, Fashion and Rolling Loud and explained what each one will have and the page numbers next to them.

On my double page spread I used a standard layout of text on the right page and had the left page just be for my image of my model, which is a typical convention of a magazine to the model either in the middle or on one entire page. To ensure my magazine pages link and are consistent, I used the same fonts and colours as my front cover and double page spread.

Distribution

My magazine will use vertical integration, which is where I can control the production, distribution and exchange of a product. You would be able to purchase the 'Anti' magazine from stores such as HMV or WHSmiths. Also, you will be able to purchase the magazine on Amazon, which is easy and you can get next day delivery or even same day delivery. My target audience are young adults so they would be comfortable using a mobile phone . Also, WHSmith's is a book store that also sells magazines and newspapers, which will be a great opportunity to sell my magazine. I will export many copies so that I can get as much revenue as possible.

Form and Genre
My magazine is based around popular rapper Juice WRLD. There are many other magazines that have Juice WRLD as a cover model, however there are no magazines that base the entire magazine around Juice WRLD and his music and career.
This magazine is similar to my magazine as it is a rap themes magazine however the photo has been edited to be black and white and is DaBaby rather than Juice WRLD. Also the background is plain and doesnt have any interesting details.

This magazine is similar to my magazine as it is based around the theme of music however a clear difference is that this magazine is focussing on classical music whereas mine is modern rap and hip-hop. This magazine contains an instrument which makes it clear that it is a music magazine and the masthead further shows as it it 'Music'. This issue contains an exclusive interview whereas my magazine contained exclusive posters, pictures and interviews.

Marketing
I am going to use vertical integration and above-the-line advertising to market the launch of my magazine. I am using vertical integration because it allows me to controle production, distribution and exchange so i can maximise success.
My target audience might be reached by posters put up on us stops and on walls as I can advertise to local populations. Also, i could market my magazine on banners on things like buses so that i can advertise to different groups of people in different areas as it gives me a really wide audience and really high brand awareness.
For the price of my magazine i decided to charge £3.49p (inc VAT)
The reason I chose £3.49 is because my magazine is A4 paper and it will contain 150 pages, which typically cost around 10P each, then i add a additional charge to profit from the magazine.
